OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2014. The long-awaited next issue of Life in Estonia magazine is now available! This time it’s covering different angles of the Smart Industry and its success in Estonia. There is room for refreshing touch of Estonian culture and people, plus a recommended to do list while visiting Estonia.

Cover story introduces the Estonian minister of Foreign Trade and Entrepreneurship, Anne Sulling who emphasizes that Estonia is an attractive hub for testing new technologies. The effective e-state and competitive workforce combined with the simple and motivational tax system and low level of corruption does give the small country its advantages. She adds that Estonian government has invested a great deal in the business infrastructure founding industrial parks, incubators and science and development centres.

Among others we’re glad to tell you the stories of Laser Diagnostic Instruments (LDI) targeting the water protection market worth billions of dollars and Stoneridge, the American dream in Tanassilma village that grew from running a small production unit into making products to Scania, Volvo and Ford. Interestingly, Stoneridge also contributed to testing the special vibration tolerance of the first Estonian satellite, Estcube, recently deployed into orbit.

Often referred to being a singing nation, Estonians are especially proud of their musicians. In this issue Kristiina Poska, a talented Estonian conductor based in Berlin gives an open and honest interview about her work in Germany and how she has defeated the doubts that often hold back the greatest artists. The cherry on top is added with the catchy and beautiful art portfolio by Laurentsius, the Estonian oil painter.
