Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, today announced it has been recognized as a global leader in sustainability in the 2014 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World). TCS earned a rating in the 91st percentile, marking the second straight year the organization has ranked among the top 10 percent of global organizations - placing it 40 percent higher than the industry average. Each year, the DJSI analyzes the top global organizations leading in sustainability, specifically assessing their economic, environmental and social business performance.

Established in 1999 as the first-ever family of global sustainability benchmarks, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) has become a reference point in sustainability investing. Launched jointly between S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, DJSI World tracks the performance of the top 10% of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM that lead the field in terms of sustainability. The DJSI annual review is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assesses issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate-change mitigation, supply-chain standards, and labor practices.
