OREANDA-NEWS. Horizon Nuclear Power (Horizon) has today set out how people can have their say on its nuclear new build plans, paving the way for 10 weeks of consultation on the proposed multi-billion pound Wylfa Newydd power station on Anglesey.

Horizon will launch its first phase of public consultation on Monday 29 September, and has today published its Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC) which outlines what is being consulted on, how people can get involved, and how people will be able to have their say on the draft proposals.

The consultation is a major step in the planning process and is the first time people will be able to view Horizon's proposals for Wylfa Newydd in detail. People will be able to access information online, at a series of public exhibitions and at libraries across North Wales and Anglesey.

Alan Raymant, Chief Operating Officer at Horizon, said: "It is crucial that people have the opportunity to have their say on our proposals. Wylfa Newydd is a major investment in the region and brings with it a wide range of benefits, from the economic to the educational, so we want to encourage people to take the time to get involved and understand what the project means for them, for the local area, and for Wales and the UK more widely.

"Our SOCC sets out our commitment to consultation and has been developed with support and input from the Isle of Anglesey County Council to ensure it meets the needs of local community. It outlines our approach to consultation and how people will be able to get involved and have their say on Wylfa Newydd."
