OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2014. Valentin Gapanovich, Senior Vice-President of Russian Railways, Jan Harder, Vice President of ALSTOM in Russia, and Sergei Kobzev, Technical Director of Transmashholding, signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop production systems and apply lean manufacturing techniques.

The memorandum was signed on 24 September 2014 at InnoTrans, an international specialised exhibition of transport equipment being held in the German capital Berlin, and covers, in particular, exchanging experience, training, transferring technology management in the application of modern quality assurance tools, implementing lean manufacturing techniques and personnel motivation.

The three parties intend to work together to study, adapt and implement best practices in servicing rolling stock over the entire operational life cycle, harmonise Russia's technical requirements and standards with European norms and standards, implement joint projects and programmes for the innovative development and modernisation of rolling stock and rail infrastructure transport.
