OREANDA-NEWS. September 25, 2014. The managers' delegation of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan visited JSC TANECO.

The visit participants familiarized themselves with the multi-stage system of environmental monitoring operating at the enterprise.

The industrial environmental monitoring program developed at JSC TANECO allows controlling the atmospheric air in the populated settlements located on the border of the common sanitary protection zone; monitoring the status of surface and ground waters, of the soil in the influence zone of the Refinery and Petrochemical Plants Complex and the air quality at the enterprise site.
The automated monitoring system allows for around the clock assessing of the environmental situation in the area monitored and creating archives of environmental data.

In the frame of implementing the measures of the long-term special-purpose program "Environmental Protection  of the Nizhnekamsk city and Nizhnekamsk Municipal District for 2012-2015" the JSC TANECO have organized  daily transmission of air monitoring data by 25 indicators  into a single database of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

More than 40 thousand of quantitative chemical analyses were made in the territory of the Refinery and Petrochemical Plants Complex and in nearby settlements during 2014. No cases of exceeding the hygienic standards, maximum permissible emissions, standards for allowable discharges of pollutants into the environment set out in the permits were recorded.

At the end of the visit Gleb Vatletsov, Director of the Department of State Policy and Governmental Control in the field of hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, praised the environmental performance of TANECO.

He pointed out that performance of   qualitative monitoring is very important, especially for cities that are large industrial hubs like Nizhnekamsk: "It is gratifying that the TANECO's environmental monitoring system has been established and it is working effectively.  The Company is obviously a leader to be guided by. Upon the whole, the country faces the long-term task of transmission of the data monitored by the companies having emissions into the atmosphere to the State supervisory bodies. We can say that TANECO is now technologically ready to carry out this work and be adapted to new conditions".
