OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines, the partner of Moscow Domodedovo Airport, operated the greatest number of flights without delays and has taken the first place in the punctuality contest according to the results of August 2014. Among other most punctual air carriers, there are such companies as: Rossiya, Izhavia, Pskovavia, Lufthansa, Azerbaijan Airlines, Iberia and Avia Traffic Company.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport sums up the results of the Most Punctual Airlines Contest held among its partner air companies on a monthly basis in eight categories - depending on frequency of flights and maximum take-off mass of aircraft. Transaero Airlines demonstrated the best performance in the first category as they operated 1,427 on-time flights. Rossiya became the winner in the second category with 260 flights without delays. Izhavia Airlines became the winner in the third category as it operated 96 punctual flights. Pskovavia won in the fourth category having operated 13 flights without delays in August.

Foreign airlines, partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport, contested in a separate group. Lufthansa operated 216 flights, thus taking a leadership position among foreign airlines. Azerbaijan Airlines operated 124 on-time flights and took the next position in the rating. Iberia (62 punctual flights) and Avia Traffic Company (31 on-time flights) are also among the leaders.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been holding the monthly Most Punctual Airlines Contest for more than 6 years, and it is an effective tool for improving the quality of the air carrier service. During the years of the contest holding, the number of partners of the air hub increased by one third. As of early September 2014, 86 airlines operate flights to 242 domestic and international destinations from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, 87 of which are unique for the Moscow Air Hub.
