OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2014. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which priority aspects of the domestic policy and important draft documents were considered.

The report of the preparations for a meeting of the Elders' Council to be held in Lebap Velayat this year was presented.

The Turkmen leader was informed on the outcomes of the participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in the Regional Ministerial Consultation on

“Monitoring and Accountability for the Post-2015 Development Agenda The Regional Dimension” held in Geneva, the Swiss Confederation.

The report on the progress of works on modernization of the square stretching from S. Turkmenbashi Avenue to A. Navoi Street was presented during the meeting.

It was also reported on the preparations for the celebrations in honour of the 23rd anniversary of Turkmenistan independence.

The President was informed on the preparations for the trip of 188 Turkmen pilgrims – representatives of all five provinces of the country and Ashgabat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform hajj on September 27 - October 17, 2014. It was also reported on the preparations for the School Cultural and Sports Festival among CIS member-states to be held in Avaza on the Caspian coast.

The report on the progress of agricultural work, in particular the cotton campaign, and other agro-technical activities was presented.

The Turkmen leader was informed on the progress of construction of the International airport in Ashgabat. It was also reported on completion of construction of a new administrative building of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service.

The report on the progress of construction of ammonia - carbamide complex in Mary and training Turkmen specialists for еру ore-dressing and processing enterprise in Garlyk region in Koytendag Etrap, Lebap Velayat for production of potash fertilizers was presented.

It was also reported on the preparations for the Trade Fair of Turkmenistan in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus on October 9-12, and the fair of Belarus products in Turkmenistan on November 25-30.

The president instructed the relevant officials to draft all necessary regulatory and legal documents regarding the organisation of work of the memorial complex under construction in the southwest of Ashgabat. In this regard, the Turkmen leader instructed the Mejlis of Turkmenistan to reconsider the laws on holidays and remarkable dates, and make all necessary amendments.

The President signed the Resolution authorizing construction of two twelve-storey 72-apartment houses with improved conditions, as well as other social facilities in compliance with the tender announced by the Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk State Concern.

Signing the Resolution on enrollment of foreign citizens to the higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan for 2014-2015 academic year, the President recommended the relevant officials to enroll more foreign students to the educational institutions in our country.

The President signed the Resolution on establishing a Property Exchange, and instructed the relevant officials to organize the work of the newly established institution in the Turkmen capital and its structural subdivisions on sites.

Approving the Programme on construction of highways of the state significance in Turkmenistan in 2014-2019, the Turkmen leader underlined the importance of the transport sector in the further dynamic social and economic development of the country.

Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
