OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2014. A delegation from China-based petroleum company GCL-Poly briefed Djiboutian Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed on their planned construction of substantial gas infrastructure linking Djibouti and Ethiopia, the Djiboutian Information Agency reported. GCL-Poly is currently working on the construction of a gas pipeline, gas liquefaction plant, and a dock for unloading liquefied gas.

The project is a 725 billion franc (USD4 billion) investment, 544 billion (USD 3 billion) of which will be spent in Djibouti and the remainder in Ethiopia.

Vice President of GCL-Poly Li Wei reassured Mohamed and the other cabinet members present at the meeting that the project would create jobs in Djibouti and said that he was optimistic regarding its success.
