OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2014. China's consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, grew 2 percent year on year in August, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
 
The August CPI growth rate was lower than the 2.3 percent seen in July.

China's producer price index, which measures inflation at wholesale level, dropped 1.2 percent year on year in August, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
