OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of August 2014 came to about 1,174.995 million m3, up 8.3% to that in August 2013.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 130.634 million m3, up 3.2% from August 2013, due to the increased number of customers In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 248.55 million m3, down 4.8% from August 2013, due to lower average temperature of late August compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for air-conditioning.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 623.342 million m3, up 16.6% from August 2013, due to the increased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 172.468 million m3, up 6.2% from August 2013, due to the increased demand of the other companies.
