OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2014. Today is the 19th anniversary of the first ton of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). During this time the Group of Companies "Titan" has received more than two million tons of high-octane fuel additive.

Group of Companies "Titan" is the largest domestic manufacturer of MTBE. By the end of 2013 the share of enterprises accounted for about 17% of the Russian MTBEmarket.

Currently, the quality of the oxygenate meets international standards (the concentration of the main substance in MTBE is 99%). MTBE is registered in accordance with the European Union Regulation on chemicals REACH. Quality of the product awarded prestigious national awards - in 2008 and 2012, itbecame the winner of the federal stage of the competition, "100 best goods of Russia".

The design capacity of the first gas fractionation plant, launched in 1995, was 187 tons of product per day. The second installation of MTBE was built in 2002. Since that time there have been some changes in the technology of MTBE aimed at ecologization and improvement of the production process.

Note that the plant "Omsk rubber", a part of the Group of Companies "Titan" has the technical ability to produce ETBE at the existing plant for the production of MTBE. Issue of ecological analogue of MTBE is planned within the framework of territorial and sectoral project "Biocomplex." Estimatedvolumesof ETBE - 330-500 thousandtonsperyear.
