OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2014. Bank of Estonia economist Rasmus Kattai said the economic situation of the nation is better than expected.

He told ETV's “Terevisioon” that the economies of Estonia and Finland can not be compared as the latter has cooled, with GDP change around the zero mark.

“There is no reason for over-the-top pessimism, but there is room for improvement to increase the growth rate,” Kattai said.

He said the nation is currently experiencing deflation, but real salaries are increasing 5 percent annually.
