Colorado on Tap Exhibit Opens at Denver International Airport
OREANDA-NEWS. Colorado on Tap: The State of Brew Culture is a new temporary art exhibit opening at Denver International Airport (DIA) on Sept. 20, 2014. The exhibit will be on display through December 2014 in Ansbacher Hall, which is the pre-security walkway to the A Gates on level 6, north of Jeppesen Terminal. Media is invited to obtain photos and video during installation September 17-18.
The timing of the exhibition coincides with Oktoberfest and the Great American Beer Festival at the Colorado Convention Center, which draws thousands of visitors through DIA. The exhibit features an assortment of educational information and interesting artifacts from various participating Colorado craft breweries. Display cases will showcase a variety of craft brewery related items including growlers, pub glasses, specialty glassware, coasters, tap handles, t-shirts, bottles, cans and custom art created for beer labels. Visitors can learn about canning systems, ingredients and the brewing process.
"The goal of this exhibit is to provide passengers an opportunity to better understand the craft beer industry and its contributions to the Colorado creative economy," said Chris Stevens, DIA Art & Culture Program Manager.
The exhibition is a collaboration between DIA, Colorado Creative Industries, Colorado Brewers Guild and more than 250 craft breweries located around the state.
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper is quoted as a part of the display, "Colorado has become such a mecca for quality beer. The economic impact of Colorado's craft brewing industry has nearly doubled in just the past two years, rising to USD 826 million in 2013. Explosive growth continues to have a huge economic effect on the state and the many breweries located in Colorado's Creative Districts play a vital role in economic vitality and placemaking."
