Moldova Increased Exports of Grain and Products by 3,3%
OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2014. As it was informed in the National Bureau of statistics, during the same period, the imports of this commodity group made up USD41,1 million, decreasing by 4.5%.
The share of cereals and products in the total exports increased from 2.3% to 7.2%, while imports decreased from 1.7% to 1.6%. It should be noted that after the drought of 2012, last year in Moldova a good crop of grain was registered in Moldova.
According to the National Bureau of statistics, in 2013 the harvest of grain and leguminous crops has increased 2.2 times up to 2 million 660 thousand tons.
At the same time, the gross yield of wheat has doubled - up to 1 million 007 thousand tons. The average wheat yield in 2013 increased by 1.7 times. As it was informed before by the Minister of agriculture and food industry Vasile Bumacov, the export will make about 160 thousand tons of wheat of the harvest-2013.
