OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2014. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the framework of the official schedule of the International Investment Forum “Far East – 2014”, the agreement on collaboration for the purposes of development of port infrastructure for cruise shipping was signed.

The document was signed by Vladimir Ilyukhin, governor of Kamchatka Territory, Andrey Tarasenko, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director, and Peter Parinov, Deputy General Director of LLC “Inflot Worldwide Rus”.
 
Cooperation between the parties is aimed at the implementation of investment projects on the development in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Seaport the modern passenger terminal with the berths suitable for receiving cruise ships with the size of not less than the Voyager class.
 
Implementation of the agreement will increase the one-time capacity of the seaport to the 4,000 - 4,500 people (passengers and crew) and provide call of not less than 19 large cruise ships in 2016 and up to 30 - in 2019. Particular attention will be paid to the possibility of regulation of reduction factors to the tariffs for port charges in respect of the cruise ships. Thus, the document will contribute to improving the quality of tourism services and turn the region into an attractive and popular tourist destination.
 
In addition, the projects related to the development of the Northern Sea Route will help to turn Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in one of the centers of international economic growth in the Russian part of the Asia-Pacific region.
