OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2014. GAZ Group's Autocomponent Division (integrates automponent production facilities of Automoobile Plant GAZ) received the "Global Automotive Components - 2014" award for its contribution into the Russian automotive component industry development.

The award was presented during the 18th International trade exhibition of automotive parts and car maintenance equipment "MIMS powered by Automechanika Moscow 2014" that took place from25 till 28 of August at Moscow Expocenter.

The award was established by ASM-Holding analytical agency, MIMS forum, Max Media and Kuzov-media publishing houses. The award's expert board includes representatives of Moscow Motor Road State Technical University, European Business Association, NAMI Federal state unitary enterprise, National Autocomponent Manufacturers' Association, the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others. The goal of the award is to identify leading automotive component manufacturers and contribute to the development of automotive components' production and sales.

GAZ, one of the largest Russian automotive components manufacturers, produces stamped steel wheels and body parts, axles, suspensions and  suspension elements, iron  and non-ferrous metal castings, forged parts, dies, molds, etc. GAZ supplies OEM components both to Russian automotive manufacturers and to foreign companies that localized their production in Russia. Duringthe past several years GAZ Group has implemented a whole number of projects to set up world-class quality components production: in particular the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV frames production project and the exhaust sytems production project implemented in cooperation with Bosalcompany, the joint projects with  a Swedish company Bulten to set up fasteners production and an Italian company  MW SpA to produce wheels are currently underway.
