OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2014. Chairman of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Innovation and Development Talgat Musabayev met with the Director General of Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) Yousuf Hamad Alshaibani.

The talks were attended by members of the Aerospace Committee, heads of Kazkosmos enterprises - Acting President of JSC "NC Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" Marat Nurguzhin, president of JSC "Republican center of space communication" Victor Lefter, President of JSC "National Center of Space Research and Technology" Zhumabek Zhantayev, and assistant general manager EIAST on Science and Technology Salem Al-Marri.

Welcoming guests, Talgat Musabayev noted that a framework agreement on cooperation between Kazkosmos and Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology was signed in November 2011. "During this time, both of our countries have reached a significant level of development of space activities, allowing us to start real cooperation in this sphere," he said.

Head of Kazkosmos spoke briefly about the main directions of creating the space industry of Kazakhstan, having noted that Kazakhstan has two full-fledged satellite systems - Space Communications System "Kazsat" consisting of two telecommunications satellites, and two satellites KazEOSat-1 of high and medium spatial resolution KazEOSat- 2 enter the space system of earth remote sensing.

Director General of EIAST Yousuf Alshaibani informed that in August, 2014, a National Space Agency was established by Government’s decision in the UAE. And the EIAST authorities associate the first visit to Kazakhstan with a promising cooperation with Kazkosmos.

"The purpose of our visit is not only to explore all possible ways and areas of cooperation between our space agencies, but also to begin the real work together for exchange of experience, specialists, technology," Yousuf Alshaibani said.

After Kazkosmos enterprises made their proposals for cooperation, the Arab guests were directly interested in possibilities of modern Kazakhstani earth remote sensing satellites, development of high-precision navigation system, Kazkosmos specialists research in space science, experience in manpower development and transfer of space technology in the leading European companies in the world.

Inviting EIAST representatives to visit unique National Space Centre (NCC) under construction, Acting President of JSC "NC Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" Marat Nurguzhin noted with commissioning of NCC facilities, Kazakh specialists can offer their services to colleagues and partners, from designing to assembly and spacecraft testing that by the end of 2016.

EIAST delegation headed by Director General of Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology will visit the ground control spacecraft "Kazsat2", "KazSat-3" in Akkol by Kazkosmos’s invitation tomorrow.

At the end of the meeting, Talgat Musabayev and Yousuf Hamad Alshaibani expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation of Kazkosmos and EIAST, authorizing their experts to develop a detailed plan for joint action.
