OREANDA-NEWS. Omsk State Technical University has opened two new student courses, “Chemical Plant Machinery and Equipment” and “Chemical Technologies for Fossil Fuels and Carbon Materials”, at a University department sponsored by Gazprom Neft. The department was set up as part of the Company's “Hometowns” social investment project.

The students follow an applied-science bachelor degree course, which combines theoretical training with extensive practical learning in the field of petrochemicals, including training on dynamic models of Omsk Refinery equipment and computer simulators of industrial processes. Students will graduate with two professions and all necessary permits from Rostekhnadzor (the state agency for technical standards) and will be offered employment at Gazprom Neft oil refining and petrochemical facilities in Omsk, Moscow (Moscow Oil Refinery), Yaroslavl (Yaroslavnefteorgsintez) and units of the Serbian subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, NIS.

The “Hometowns” social investment program unites all social initiatives and projects by Gazprom Neft companies in Russian regions. The program aims to develop the socio-economic potential of the regions and improve the quality of life of people living there. It includes urban environment projects, creation of infrastructure for children and sport, as well as initiatives in the fields of education, health and support for small indigenous peoples of the Russian Far North.
