SFO Announces Launch of Chinese-Language Website
OREANDA-NEWS. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today announced the launch of www.flySFO.cn <http://www.flySFO.cn>, the first dedicated Chinese-language airport website in the U.S. featuring content in simplified Chinese. The site provides easy access to the most frequently-used information, real-time flight tracking, and responsive design which scales seamlessly to mobile devices.
“San Francisco is a City of innovation, and we are proud to be the first airport in the U.S. to offer a website in Chinese,” said San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. “SFO's Chinese language website further connects our City with China, strengthens the economic and cultural ties between our two regions, while providing our diverse communities and travelers with an easier way to make our City and SFO their destination of choice.”
“SFO serves more destinations to Asia than any other city in the U.S.,” said Airport Director John L. Martin. “This innovation reflects our commitment to our Chinese-speaking customers.”
The website features content relevant to Chinese visitors, including information about shopping, restaurants, services, amenities and public transit options. The site also offers real-time tracking of arrivals and departures at SFO, Wi-Fi connection guides, and a social media stream of SFO videos on Youku, a Chinese video hosting service i.youku.com/FlySFO. The flySFO.cn website is hosted in the People's Republic of China, a move which offers increased delivery speed and load times for visitors in China.
Travelers at SFO continue to enjoy increasing levels of access to Asian markets. In April 2013, SFO welcomed China Eastern with nonstop service to Shanghai and continuing service to Wuhan. In June 2014, United Airlines launched the first nonstop service from the U.S. to the interior of China, with service to Chengdu. SFO now serves more destinations to Asia than any other city in the U.S.
