OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2014. S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance®, announces receiving a new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. The liner in the S7 Airlines branded livery will be delivered to the Globus Airlines fleet (performs flights under the S7 Airlines brand) directly from the Boeing factory in Seattle.

The aircraft was provided on lease terms by the BOC Aviations lease company. The liner will be based at the Domodedovo Moscow Airport and will make flights on all routes of the S7 Airlines network. In the beginning of September first flights to Nizhnevartovsk, Mineralnye Vody and Osh will be operated.

“Extending the aircraft fleet of the group member airlines with new effective liners is one of our priority goals. Now the average age of the S7 Airlines fleet is nine years, which is one of the best indexes on the Russian air transportation market. Before the end of the year we plan to receive two more analogous aircrafts, which will perform flights in the winter schedule 2014/2015”, Vadim Besperstov, S7 Airlines Group Strategic Development Director, noted.

The new liner has one-class configuration and is designed to carry 189 economy class passengers, but already in the winter schedule the configuration will be changed to the standard S7 Airlines configuration of Boeing 737-800 – 12 business class seats and 154 economy class seats.

With the new liner the S7 Airlines fleet will include 59 aircrafts, among them Airbus A320, Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 family aircrafts.
