Rosmorport Compensates Water Biological Resources
OREANDA-NEWS. September 05, 2014. In the end of June 2014 FSUE “Rosmorport” released the young breams bred at a special fish factory in Rostov region. The aim of the release was to compensate for the damage incurred to the water biological resources and their environment by repair dredging works conducted at the Taganrog approach canal and the approaches to berths No. 1-9 of Taganrog Seaport.
It is a most important duty of any economic entity operating in the marine industry to compensate for the results of the construction works, including dredging works, in basins. Being an environmentally responsible enterprise FSUE “Rosmorport” fully meets all the requirements of the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation in regard of water biological resources reproduction.
In 2014 more than 10 million young fishes of calico salmon, starlet and bream were bred on request of the enterprise and released into the basins of the Amur River (Khabarovsk territory), Lidovka River (Primorye Territory), Kuban River (Krasnodar Territory), and into the Azov Sea basin.
The enterprise is going to release more young fish bred by order of the Astrakhan and North-West Basin branches in the current year as compensation to the environment.
FSUE “Rosmorport” is planning to spend more than 19 million roubles from its own funds on breeding and release of young fish in 2014.
