Breadmaker Moving Production Out of Estonia, 95 Jobs Lost
OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2014. Baker Fazer said it will consolidate its Baltic production facilities to Latvia and Lithuania, which means its Tallinn factory, along with 95 staff, will be closed next year.
“The market situation is very complicated. Consumption of packaged breads is down. Expenses have increased and the can not all be transferred to the end price,” Fazer Group's head of the baking division, Petri Kujala, said in a press release today.
There is too much production capacity in the Baltics, Kujala said, adding that they are shifting production to Latvia and Lithuania instead.
