OREANDA-NEWS.  September 04, 2014. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the domestic policy issues and draft documents were considered.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on the current situation in the sectors under their supervision. In particular, the report on the progress of building works on the sections of the North-South transport corridor - Serhetyaka-Bereket and Bereket-Etrek and new facilities in Balkan Velayat was presented.

The report on the preparations for the international high-level conference on the role of transport transit corridors in ensuring international cooperation and sustainable development, which will be held in Ashgabat on September 3-4, was presented.

The report of the preparations for a meeting of the Elders' Council and the celebrations in honour of the 23rd anniversary of Turkmenistan independence was presented.

The information on the progress in implementing the urban development programme aimed at creating necessary infrastructure in Ashgabat was presented. It was noted that farmers in Ahal, Lebap and Mary Velayat had started the cotton campaign. The measures to ensure the smooth operation of cotton procurement stations and settlement of accounts with farmers for the harvest had been taken.

The report on the outcomes of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-China Committee for Cooperation, which took place in Ashgabat on August 29, and the preparations for Turkmenistan-China Business Forum, which will be held within the framework of the Fourth International Investment and Finance Exhibition in Beijing, the People's Republic of China on November 15-16, was presented.

The information on the preparations for the participation of a delegation of Turkmenistan in Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum, which will be held in Kazan on September 3-5, was presented.

The information on the progress of building works at the ammonia and carbamide producing plants in Mary town, which will be put into operation soon, was presented.

The report on the progress in drafting the Programme for the construction of state motor roads for 2014-2023 was presented. The Programmes provides for phased modernisation of the highways Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat-Turkmenabat-Farap and Ashgabat-Dashoguz.

The report on the preparations for the International Exhibition and Conference "The Key Vectors of the Development of Turkmenistan's Energy Industry", which will be held at the Sergi kosgi Exhibition Centre on September 11-13, was presented.

The information on the participation of the representatives of business circles of our country in the 4th China-Eurasia Expo (CAE Expo), which will be held in Urumqi, the People's Republic of China on September 1-6, was presented. The report on the preparation of the exposition of the ministries, agencies and private companies of Turkmenistan at the 4th International Investment and Financial Exhibition, which will be held in Beijing on November 15-16.

The President signed the Resolution on the establishment of a new joint educational institution at the existing institution of high education of the same name - the International Turkmen-Turkish University. The higher educational institution will operate on a self-financing basis and provide paid training services. The issues related to the management of the institution of higher education will be regulated by the Joint Intergovernmental Council, which will consist of specialists from Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey.

The President signed the Resolution on the organisational issues of the hotels for 350 visitors under construction in Mary and Dashoguz, the Resolution on the construction of Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway, the Resolution on the organisational issues of multitype trade marketplaces in the Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat.

Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted at the government meeting.
