OREANDA-NEWS. OAO Belaruskali has started building a mining plant at Petrikov deposit, a company representative told.

On Wednesday they held an official ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the new mining plant.

The mining plant at Petrikov deposit is expected to be commissioned by January 1, 2022 and operate for over 90 years. The annual production capacity of the plant will be at least 1.5 million tones of potassium chloride.

OAO Belaruskali is one of the world's biggest producers of potassium fertilizers. It accounts for 16% of the world's potassium export.
