OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusian farmers have gathered in 9.167 million tonnes in 2014, up 35.5% year on year, Belarus' Vice Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Garkun told reporters Thursday.

In his words, Belarus is almost through with grain harvesting and can boast an all time high record of grain crops - 9.167 million tonnes to compare with 8.59 million in 2008.

In Minsk Region they collected 2.147 million tonnes of grain, Grodno Region - 1.682 million tonnes, Gomel Region - 1.294 million tonnes, Vitebsk Region - 1.217 million tonnes.

43 districts (36% of the total number of districts in Belarus) yielded more than 40 ha per hectare.
