Over 300 Moldovan Entrepreneurs Learn EU Practices to Promote Goods
OREANDA-NEWS. September 02, 2014. Over 300 local entrepreneurs were familiarised with European practices on promoting goods within a training programme carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) together with the European Business Association.
The business people were informed about the requirements for the access to the EU market, how to correctly work out and where to promote their trade offers.
CCI head Valeriu Lazar said such trainings had been organised in different regions of the country, including the left bank of the Dniester. The economic agents have to be more active, be informed and implement European practices as soon as possible.
“Although the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) was initially scheduled to enter into force starting from January 2015, this term was changed after the Russian embargo. Beginning with next September, the trade relations between Moldova and EU will be carried out within DCFTA. The EU trade implies strict rules and requirements, but if we learn to penetrate the EU market, we will be competitive on any other international market”, Lazar said.
A Belgian trainer, operational expert of relations with the EU, Luc Van Looveren, noted that the training courses had a practical character. “During seminars, we put emphasis on the EU legislation, access to the EU market, technical regulations for goods of animal/vegetal origin. The business people found out where and how to seek sales markets, how to analyse statistics data on trade, in order to identify the demand and supply for each EU state separately, how to correctly elaborate trade offers, etc. Certainly, the economic agents need support of the government, business associations, but they must also take efforts to find business partners,” the expert said.
The programme will continue during September-November, being carried out with the assistance of the International Financial Corporation and Swedish government, within a project titled, “Moldova-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. Business People Informing and Capacity Building.”.
