OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2014. Power Machines OJSC and AES Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP PLC (Kazakhstan) entered into a contract to manufacture and supply a hydro turbine impeller for the second hydropower unit of Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP. 

Under the terms of the contract, Power Machines OJSC is to manufacture and supply a hydro turbine impeller completed with mounting attachments.

As a result of impeller replacement, capacity of the second hydropower unit of Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP will increase by 10 MW to reach 95 MW. The hydro turbine efficiency is also expected to grow from 93.0% to 96.1%.

Signing of the contract continues the successful cooperation between Power Machines OJSC and AES Ust-Kamenogorskaya HPP PLC. Currently, the St. Petersburg Power Engineering Concern is completing manufacture of a hydro turbine impeller for the hydropower unit under the station number 3 of Kazakhstan’s HPP, and will subsequently supervise its installation. An appropriate contract was signed by the companies in July 2013.
