OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2014. As it was reported by the Ministry of agriculture, an extraordinary General meeting of association was held in Balti, where the parties have discussed problems of fruit producers after the introduction of the Russian ban and ways of resolving them.

The proposed measures were as follows: to create a coordinating center under the leadership of the Prime Minister; to take until August 31 the decision to grant financial assistance to agricultural producers who have suffered losses due to low sales summer and autumn varieties of apples and plums; to define up to September 30 sources of funding and to develop a support mechanism for sales of winter varieties of apples.

The participants also condemned the attempts to politicize the issue. The Deputy Minister of agriculture Gheorge Gaberi noted that the ministry is looking for new markets for Moldovan fruit and vegetables. In addition, the Deputy Minister also announced the finalization of rules of allocation of funds for compensation of losses in the first stage of harvesting fruits and vegetables.
