OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2014. PT Pertamina (Persero) officially reveals the resignation plan of Pertamina President Director Karen Agustiawan per 1 October 2014.
 
Pertamina Corporate Communication Vice President Ali Mundakir said that on 13 August 2014, Karen had submitted her resignation letter to the company by copying State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister as the company’s general shareholder meeting (RUPS), board of commissioners and board of directors. He continued that Karen’s resignation was based on personal reasons and to maintain the leadership regeneration process in Pertamina.
 
“Karen Agustiawan has served for 6.5 years in Pertamina’s board of directors, where he served as upstream director for a year and then 5.5 years as president director. Thus, she thinks that now is the right time to resign for the sake of the leadership regeneration process in Pertamina,” Ali explained.
 
Karen was inaugurated as upstream director on 5 March 2008. She was then inaugurated as president director on 5 February 2009 with a tenure that ended on 4 March 2014. On 5 March 2013, shareholders decided to extend Karen’s tenure for the second five-year period.
 
According to the company’s charter, shareholders can to extraordinary RUPS to respond the resignation. Then, before 1 October 2014, the board of commissioners will appoint one of members of board of directors to serve as acting president director until the definitive one is appointed.
 
“Therefore, Karen Agustiawan will continue working as president director until 30 September 2014,” Ali said.
