MIA Director Hosts FAA Executive Eduardo Angeles at MIA
OREANDA-NEWS. Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) Director Emilio T. Gonzalez hosted Eduardo Angeles, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Associate Administrator for Airports, at Miami International Airport today. In his senior role at the FAA, Angeles oversees the agency's USD 3.5 billion annual federal airport grants program, as well as passenger facility charge collections totaling USD 2 billion.
During the one-on-one meeting, Gonzalez and Angeles discussed future opportunities for MDAD to work more closely with the agency, which is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of America's vast aviation system. Additionally, they discussed key federal aviation policies, including the FAA Reauthorization and Reform Act, which is a critical source of federal funding for airports nationwide, including MIA.
"It was an honor to host FAA Administrator Angeles at MIA today," said Gonzalez. "This was a wonderful opportunity to speak directly with a federal leader whose decisions have a real, direct bearing on the success of our airport and so many others. I look forward to working with all of our partners at the FAA to ensure that our international gateway continues to thrive and support tens of thousands of local jobs."
