OREANDA-NEWS. First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) has shown the best corporate social responsibility (CSR) among the Ukrainian banks and ranked top in Global Banking & Finance Review Awards 2014 ranking.

For many years FUIB has been applying the best CSR practices in the areas of HR management, quality and customer relations management, charity and social investments, environment protection, health and safety, etc. The bank has built a CSR system in compliance with the UN Global Compact Principles.

"Big business drives the development of the economy and the country, so it must promote the values of a responsible and ethical approach in all business areas. I think that the responsibility of business reflects the maturity of society. Our goal is to build a progressive and civilised society, and everyone must contribute. For that reason, FUIB has been promoting a CSR philosophy for many years organising different charity events, helping children's homes and supporting medical institutions. We call upon all businesses to join us," said Sergey Chernenko, FUIB Board Chairman.

Every year, FUIB traditionally rolls out a number of major social projects to help children's homes, finance medical institutions and introduce different green initiatives.

In 2014, the bank has implemented many social projects including a fundraiser to buy presents for children's homes on the International Children's Day and St. Nicholas Day. FUIB participated in the Cup of Life tournament to raise funds and buy a resuscitative surgical system for Kiev Regional Medical Association for Treatment of Mental Disorders and Drug Addiction. The employees of FUIB also participated in Let's Make Ukraine Clean! campaign, an all-Ukrainian event to clean the parks, gardens, beaches and other public areas. In addition, FUIB finances a charity foundation, which supports Donetsk Children's Cancer Centre "Nadezhda" (Hope). In 2013, the donations helped the facility to buy special medical equipment.
