PhosAgro CEO Joins Russian Federation UNESCO Commission
OREANDA-NEWS. PhosAgro ("PhosAgro" or "the Company") (Moscow Exchange, LSE: PHOR), one of the world's leading vertically integrated phosphate-based fertilizer producers, announces that with Government Order #1567-r dated 19 August 2014, PhosAgro's CEO Andrey Guryev has been made a member of the Russian Federation UNESCO Commission.
PhosAgro cooperates with UNESCO and the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry to support promising projects developed by young scientists though a joint project called Green Chemistry for Life.
This project aims to solve global issues of sustainable development. Green Chemistry for Life involves financial and scientific support to promising young scientists who are developing leading edge technologies using the principles of "green chemistry" to solve problems related to health and environmental protection, food production, energy efficiency and the rational use of resources.
This is the first time in UNESCO's history, and the entire UN system, that such an initiative has been implemented outside of the organisation's budget using funding from a Russian company.
