OREANDA-NEWS. A specialized sports ground was opened in Nizhny Novgorod as a present to the city from Ingosstrakh Insurance Company. The sports complex, located in the territory of North Star (Severnaya Zvezda) sports and recreation complex at 26 Lvovskaya Street will be open for everyone who wants to exercise, including people with disabilities. The opening of the sports ground in Nizhny Novgorod was a part of a major project implemented by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company in order to develop barrier-free environment in Russian cities.

The sports complex makes it possible to exercise different muscle groups and joints, improve blood circulation and develop coordination. All the exercisers are designed for the outdoor operation and are resistant to weather changes, external impact and high workload. The sports ground will be a unique outdoors urban sports complex open for everyone who likes sport, including people with musculoskeletal disorders.

Maria Kholkina, Deputy Head of Administration of Nizhny Novgorod; Leonid Streltsov, the Director of the Department of Sport and Youth Policy of the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod; Vladimir Soldatenkov, the Head of the Administration of Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod; Andrey Boyarintsev, the Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod; Rais Rahmatullin, the director of North Star (Severnaya Zvezda) sports and recreation complex; Denis Morozov, Director of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company Branch in Nizhny Novgorod; Paralympic athletes, representatives of public organizations and associations, took part in the opening ceremony of the sports ground in Nizhny Novgorod.

"For us this is a very important project that will promote the development of adaptive sports, and we are pleased that the city, represented by the local authorities and the local community, supports our initiatives," Denis Morozov, Director of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company Branch in Nizhny Novgorod, said. "We hope that the site will become not only a place of regular exercising, but also a meeting point for people with proactive attitude to life."

The young athletes who practice at North Star sports and recreation complex who participated in the solemn opening of the sports facility were the first to try the exercisers donated by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, and they were very pleased with the sports ground.

The project of sports grounds construction was launched during the Torch Relay of the 11th Paralympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, when Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was the Presenting Partner of the Relay. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the company's social activities. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was one of the first businesses to focus on the problems of athletes with disabilities. The company also provided assistance to "All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Musculoskeletal Disorders."

As a Partner and the Official Insurer of the 11th Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company initiated the construction of sports grounds in several Russian cities. Similar sports grounds for training adaptive sports have already opened in Krasnodar and Beloretsk (the Republic of Bashkortostan). Before the end of the year, sports grounds sponsored by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company will be opened in Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Omsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tver, Saratov, Sochi, Perm, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Tyumen.
