Belarus Reports 0.9% Inflation Growth in July 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 0.9% inflation growth in July 2014, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.
Consumer prices grew 11.1% in January-July 2014.
Food prices grew 0.9% month on month in July 2014 (up 14.8% in Jan-Jun), including the price of foodstuffs - up 0.6% (up 13.4%), Belstat informed.
The price of the following food products went down month on month in June: butter - down 0.5% (up 9% in Jan-Jul); potatoes - down 21.2% (up 47.7%); vegetables - down 21.7% (down 28.5%).
The price of the following food products went up in June:
eggs - up 11.1% (+0.7% in Jan-Jul); pasta - up 0.1% (+12.4%); bread and bakery goods - up 0.3% (+1,8%); confectionery goods - up 1% (+7.8%); tobaccos - up 0.3% (+20.4%); alcoholic beverages - up 2.9% (+18.7%); fish and seafood - up 0.9% (+14.9%); cheese - up 0.7% (+12.9%); cereals - up 1.1% (+9.3%); milk and dairy products - up 0.2% (+7.5%); meat and poultry - up 0.5% (+30.8%); sausages and smoked meat - up 1.8% (+17.3%), tea - up 2.2% (+11.8%).
Non-food prices grew 1% on the month in July 2014 (up 3.6% in Jan-Jul).
The price of the following non-food products went down in July: footwear - down 0.2% month on (down 0.8% in Jan-Jul 2014); bicycles and motorcycles - down 0.3% (+3.4%).

Prices of clothes grew 0.03% on the month in July (up 1.9%), medications - up 2.5% (up 10.7%), construction materials - up 0.7% (up 4.7%), perfumes and cosmetics - up 0.9% (up 5.7%), fabrics - up 0.7% (up 3.4%), detergents - up 1% (up 7.9%), petrol - 5.5% (5.5%).
The prices of services grew 0.6% on the month in July 2014 (up 16.5% in Jan-Jul).
Utility tariffs grew 1.5% on the month in July 2014 (up 12.6% in Jan-Jul).
Passenger transportation tariffs grew 1.1% on the month in July 2014 (up 20.6%), medical services - up 1.3% (up 21%), kindergarten fees - up 11.6% (up 93.4%).
Belarus' government originally expected inflation growth to stay under 11% in 2014, however in April the forecast was downplayed to 16-17%. Belarus' consumer prices grew 16.5% in 2013, while the government's forecast stood at 12%.
