IMF Tranche Will Help NBU to Maintain Currency Stability
OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2014. The Government expects that on August 29 the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund will consider the next tranche to be granted for Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed journalists, before the meeting with representatives of the largest agricultural producers of Ukraine, which took place in Cherkasy region in the framework of a roundtable "The principal aspects of the Government's comprehensive package of changes to the tax system (the Concept of reforming the tax system of Ukraine)”.
"I hope that at the end of the month, on August 29, the IMF Board of Governors will decide on the further allocation of funds to Ukraine", - said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
According to him, it will afford the National Bank of Ukraine to maintain currency stability. Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the Government is doing everything in power to stabilize the situation in Ukraine.
He stressed that under the current conditions, in which our country is forced to live, it is rather hard to attract investors. "We have never faced similar conditions throughout the entire history of Ukraine", - said the Prime Minister.
That is why the Government works on attracting additional resources from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, "in order to preserve the fragile stability”. The Prime Minister informed that the Government and the IMF had reached an understanding on further allocation of funds from the International Monetary Fund.
