Chinese Officials Inspect Jobsite of 20MCC Group in Nigeria
OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2014. Ren Qiliang, Vice-Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, conducted an inspection visit to the jobsite of Wire Rod Project (with an annual output capability of 300,000 tons) of WEMPCO Group in Nigeria.
This project is contracted by China 20MCC Construction Group (20MCC Group). Consul-general Liu Kan of Chinese Consulate-general in Lagos accompanied Ren during the inspection.
At the jobsite, Ren Qiliang shook hands with the project staff of 20MCC Group, and learned in details about their living conditions in Nigeria. Afterwards the delegation members inspected the project site, and spoke highly of the project implementation progress, safety work on site and the civilized construction. According to Ren, the overseas Chinese people in Lagos worked hard and contributed a great deal to the friendship among the people of both China and Nigeria. He expected them to continue to work under solidarity and cooperation, respect the local custom, integrate into the local society in a deep manner, and promote the communication and collaboration on a wider basis between China and Nigeria.
This project is invested by WEMPCO Group of Hong Kong, and the jobsite is located in the WEMPCO Industrial Park in IBAFO of Ogun State. The contract scope covers an installation volume of 1,430 tons for equipment and 10,420 meters for pipeline. The whole project is anticipated to be put into commissioning in October 2014.
