OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2014. That was announced by members of the Council of the International Association of Hauliers of Moldova (AITA) at their meeting with Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Vasile Botnari held to discuss the developments in the field of road transport haulage in Moldova.

Vasile Botnari said the Ministry was closely watching the situation with the use of TIR carnets in Moldova to ensure further efficiency of the TIR system in our country, a press release of AITA reads. He was assured that the association had enough capabilities, the internal conflict was over and all the curbs were removed from the TIR system in Moldova. AITA President Grigorie Bernavschi said AITA had established the fruitful cooperation with the International Road Union (IRU) and the issuance of the TIR carnets had been on track.

“We are working on new projects too to broaden a range of services Moldova’s hauliers deliver”, he said. Vasile Botnari pointed out a necessity to organize meetings with the hauliers to inform them about changes the branch would experience in the light of the new Road Transport Code adoption. The Code sets forth new requirements to be met to have access to the road transport operator profession, namely a good reputation, financial security, professional skills, etc.

“The hauliers must be informed about the changes in advance for them to adjust to new requirements by the end of the transition period”, Vasile Botnari said.
