Trade Balance Deficit of Moldova with EU Decreases by 1,7% in 1H
OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2014. According to the National Bureau of statistics, at the same time, Moldovan exports to the EU in January-June 2014 made up USD620,8 million, increasing by 21.4% compared to the same period of 2013, however, the import of goods to Moldova from the EU countries grew by 8.6%- up to USD1 billion 242,9 million.
The EU share in the total Moldovan exports increased from 45% to 53%, and in imports from 44.1% to 48.8%, respectively. In the first 6 months, 2014 the largest volume of Moldovan exports to the EU accounted for Romania - USD 201,1 million, or 6.9% more than at the same period of 2013, followed by Italy - USD 140,4 million (+82,4%); Germany - USD 66,7 million (+37.3%); the United Kingdom- USD 49.8 million (+7.3%); Poland - USD 31 million (-23,7%); Bulgaria - USD 21.2 million (+36.1%); France - USD 19.2 million (+18%); Greece - USD 16.3 million (+4.8%).
The largest volumes of imports to Moldova and EU in the relevant period also accounted for Romania - USD 360,2 million (+15%), followed by Germany- USD 211,1 million (+13.9%); Italy - USD 181,8 million (+15,9%); Poland - USD 68.3 million (+9,2%); Austria - USD 60,4 million (-5,5%); France - USD 52.4 million (-4,9%); Hungary - USD 46.2 million (-8%); Bulgaria - USD 37.2 million (-14%); UK - USD 35,9 million (+24.6%) and the Czech Republic - USD 32.1 million (+1.4%).
