Russian Sea Receives Warning from FAS
OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2014. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) issued a warning to “Russian Sea” after some mass media had published information about a sharp increase of ex-work price for cooled salmon.
The Head of FAS Department for Control over Housing-and-Utilities Sector, Construction and Natural Resources, Vadim Solovyov, had a meeting with representatives of “Russian Sea” OJSC – one of the largest companies on the Russian market of fish, sea products and canned fish trade.
The parties discussed preventing an unreasonable increase of ex-works prices for some types of water biological resources in the current economic situation. The company received an official warning not to exercise actions that can lead to violating the antimonopoly law.
“FAS monitors prices for water biological resources on a regular basis. We carefully follow the situation on the market, especially in line with the latest political decisions, and we will not allow an unreasonable increase of prices”, emphasized Vadim Solovyov. “Based on the outcome of the today’s meeting, the companies must justify the pricing policy conducted lately”.
