OREANDA-NEWS. A Volga-Dnepr Airlines' An-124-100 'Ruslan' freighter has delivered a 45-ton mobile hospital for members of the Saudi royal family from Ankara in Turkey to Tangier, Morocco.

The medical centre consisted of a 7-ton pharmacy and medical storage unit as well as separate medical units capable of providing intensive care, radiology, dental services and an operating theatre. Each unit weighed between 3,500 to 7,500 kilos. The mobile hospital was transported to Esenboğa International Airport in Turkey using road trailers and was loaded into the An-124 with the help of the aircraft's onboard cranes.

After Morocco, the mobile clinic, which was manufactured in Turkey, will be delivered to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The flight was organised on behalf of the Turkish office of Air Partner, the international charter company, and operated by Volga-Dnepr Airlines under the Ruslan International An-124 joint venture.

Alexander Gerasimov, Sales Executive, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, said: “This flight is yet another example of the trust our customers have in our ability to always provide safe, on-time deliveries for every shipment, no matter how urgent they are or the complexity of the cargo. Volga-Dnepr is often called upon to operate flights carrying cargoes such as automobiles, motor boats and high-tech equipment for leaders and members of governments and in each case we have justified our customers' confidence by ensuring their shipments arrived at their destination at the required time.”
