OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2014. 18 Moldovan leading winemaking companies have registered 28% decline in export of products in January-June. Such information has been announced on meeting of the National Vine and Wine Office, whose participants are discussing financial situation in the branch.

According to the Office experts, sales of Moldovan wine products to the CIS countries have reduced twice in the first half of 2014 against similar period of 2013.

The sales volume of the products, sold by 18 companies in the fist six months of the year, reached 428.8 million lei, which is only 75.6% of the rate in 2013 similar period.

Also, the meeting was informed about the fact that Moldovan winemakers have sold to Russia products worth USD52.6 million.

Analyzing the financial situation in winemaking companies, the Office experts have concluded that the volume of non-performing loans of winemakers in domestic banks has increased by 5% and reached 17%. (Details – in following Infotag news releases).

Infotag’s dossier: Since September 11, 2013, wine exports to Russia has been run only by companies from Transnistria and Gagauzia, because the RosPotrebNadzor [Russian federal supervisory agency for consumer goods quality] has suspended imports from Moldova, citing “low quality of products".
