OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2014. Rusatom International Network JSC and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro signed the Agreement of cooperation in nuclear energy.
 
The agreement defines basis for realization of joint projects in scientific and educational fields as well as potential business projects. Collaboration is deemed in wide range of areas: organization of joint seminars, round tables, lectures, participation of ROSATOM subsidiaries in ongoing and possible research and commercial projects of the University in nuclear energy sector, students exchange and scholarship programs, visits of Russian nuclear industry facilities by students and experts from the University, etc.
 
"Traditionally building relationships with education and research institutions is of great importance to us. This is not our first experience of work with Universities in Latin America: for the second year we’ve been successfully cooperating with the FIUBA (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires), which students and experts visited Russian nuclear enterprises in June this year. We do believe that long-term experience of ROSATOM and opportunities that we propose within this Agreement will be in-demand in Brazil" - said Ivan Dybov, Vice President of Rusatom International Network JSC. 
 
Signing ceremony was held at the Opening Day of the Nuclear Energy Week – one  of the largest specialized event in the region. The event brings together senior students and postgraduates from the Engineering courses of Universities of Rio de Janeiro, experts of the Federal University, representatives of state authorities for nuclear industry, including CNEN, as well as management of stakeholders in Brazilian energy sector. On August 12 as part of main programme of the event Ivan Dybov gives a lecture devoted to expertise and opportunities of Russian nuclear technologies and 13th of August MEPhI delegate introduces international cooperation of ROSATOM in educational sphere.
