UniCredit Bank Cancels Fines on Customers’ Loans from East of Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2014. Taking into account the difficult situation in the Eastern region, UniCredit Bank will not apply the penalty for overdue repayment of loans, as well as will cancel all fines.
This decision applies to penalties and fines accrued from 01.04.2014 on loans (excluding credit card loans) of individuals and private entrepreneurs in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
Marina Revutskaya, head of Credit Products in UniCredit Bank, said: "The Bank understands the complexity and unpredictability of the situation faced by residents of the Eastern regions, so the management has taken a firm decision not to apply penalties and fines for late payment of credits accrued from April 1 this year. This order will be valid until the stabilization of the situation in the region, which we hope will happen soon." She also noted that foreign currency borrowers from the Eastern Ukraine have special conditions for repayment.
To recall, UniCredit Bank has introduced the special temporary options of changes in crediting terms under the loans of retail clients-borrowers, who have been or will be mobilized and namely: deferral of payment of the main debt for the term of up to 6 months from the restructuring date; interest rate fixed on the date of restructuring for the term of deferral at the level of 0.1 per annum; repayment of accrued interests on a monthly basis in full amount after the expiry of the deferral for interest; cancellation of penalties and fines accrued prior to the moment of signing loan restructuring agreement.
UniCredit Bank hopes for a speedy resolution of the situation and restoration of stability, peace and order in the single Ukraine.
