OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2014. MERLION and KORUS Consulting announced the completion of the project on migration of the electronic document management system ELLF from the x86 platform to IBM PowerLinux platform. Based on the results of the project, the platform has ensured higher performance, reliability and cost-efficiency of the solution.

ELLF is a solution that offers all functionalities of an electronic document management system to work with organizational and administrative, incoming, outgoing and contractual documents. The system is implemented on the open source Alfresco platform and allows an unlimited number of users for free. It can be implemented as a cloud-based or client-server solution. The system was officially launched in September last year and received a state registration certificate.

The project on migration of ELLF application from the x86 platform to IBM PowerLinux platform was implemented by KORUS Consulting and MERLION Migration Center with advice and practical support provided by IBM. During the implementation, software suitable for running ELLF on IBM PowerLinux platform (ppc64 architecture) was selected (RHEL, Java SDK, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, Alfresco, LibreOffice, etc.); some components not available as pre-builts (swftools) were ported; the ELLF installation and configuration procedure was adjusted based on specific features of the platform.

Testing of ELLF on IBM PowerLinux platform showed more than a double increase in performance when searching and processing documents. The system reliability and security increased significantly. The platform will also minimize clients’ licensing costs through special OS-embedded services and software.
