Japan Will Continue to Provide Moldova with Assistance
OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2014. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Japan Takao Mackinaw at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Moldova Iurie Leanca.
The Japanese official said that his visit to our country fits on a tour over GUAM countries, the goal is identification of areas of increased cooperation and assistance to ensure the stability and development of the countries of the region, including Moldova. Takao Mackinaw stated that the government of Japan appreciated Moldova's efforts for democratization of society and is interested in deepening of bilateral relations, particularly, in the economic sphere.
He stressed that Japan will continue to support Moldova through grants and concessional loans, as well as technical assistance for implementation of projects aimed at modernization of the health system, the development of agricultural and energy sectors, which are very important for the stability in the region. Iurie Leanca expressed gratitude for the substantial financial and technical assistance from Japan, including a grant in the amount of about USD93 million, so far provided for implementation of various development projects.
The Prime Minister said that the Moldovan government is in favor of expanding cooperation with Japan in various fields through the development and implementation of projects and programs of mutual interest.
