OREANDA-NEWS. Vega Telecommunication Group has restored telephone communication and Internet services for more than 1,000 residents of Slavyansk. The town was cut off from long-distance and international communication services as a result of military operations at Karachun Mountain.

From 7 May to 25 July, Vega subscribers could not use the long-distance and Internet services because of the damage caused to the optical fibre cable in the course of military operations at Karachun Mountain between Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. The local telephone services had not been available in the whole town since 15 June due to a lack of electricity supply. After the liberation of Slavyansk, the company's specialists promptly started the repair works. By the end of July Vega had repaired the key equipment in the town and restored all communication services by 5 August .

The company continues taking all the efforts to restore the damaged network areas in Donbass. Still, it carries out works provided there is no threat to the life and health of its employees as human life is an absolute value for Vega. Today the repair teams in Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Kramatorsk, Khartzyzsk and Shakhtyorsk are experiencing temporary difficulties with supply of materials for restoration works because of lack of communication between Donetsk and Lugansk and other local towns. The company hopes for understanding of its clients.
