OREANDA-NEWS. During seven months in 2014, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 2,224,283 passengers

representing growth of 9.1% compared to the same period in 2013. Passenger traffic on domestic routes totalled 1,347,809 passengers (+13.3%), on international routes - 877,194 passengers (+3.1%).

In July 2014, monthly passenger traffic increased by 10.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and made up 448,113 passengers. As reported, 291,510 passengers were served on domestic routes, while on international routes - 156,603 passengers.

Steady growth rate of passenger traffic at Novosibirsk airport has contributed to serving the two-millionth passenger in July 16, 2014, that is 13 days earlier than in 2013.

In January-July 2014, the airport provided operation of 24,384 aircraft movements (+10.4%). In July only, it reports 3,994 aircraft movements, a 3.6% increase compared to the same period in 2013.

For the seven months' period of the current year, cargo and mail traffic reached 16,048 tons.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic terminal capacity makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the capacity on international flights - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO CAT I and CAT II. In 2013 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.7 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 29.9 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled.
