OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2014. According to the study prepared by the experts of the rating Agency "RIA Rating, banks of Moldova are situated in the ranking at the end of the list. Moldova-Agroindbank with total assets of USD 1.03 billion won 189 place, and Moldindconbank with assets of USD 0,98 billion won 199-th line of the rating.
It should be noted that the inclusion of Moldovan banks in the rating 2014 is stipulated by the increase in the total number of participants of the rating from 100 to 200. In 2013, none of the Moldovan Bank was not included in the rating.
The study indicated that the assets of Moldova-Agroindbank in 2013 increased by 8.3% compared with the previous year, and the share of this Bank account for about 17.6% of the total assets of the banking system of Moldova. Assets of Moldindconbank grew by 38% and 16.8% of the total assets of the banking system of the country.
Of 1,300 banks of CIS countries in number of two hundred of the largest banks entered banks of nine countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. None of the banks of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were not included in the rating. As in the previous years, Russian banks have taken the first nine positions of the rating: "Sberbank of Russia, Bank VTB, Gazprombank, VTB 24, Rosselkhozbank, Bank of Moscow, Alfa-Bank, NOMOS-BANK, UniCredit Bank, and tenth place is Ukrainian "Privat".
The indisputable leader of the rating is "Sberbank of Russia", the assets of which 1.7 times larger than the total assets of all 70 foreign banks represented in the rating. In addition, banks of several countries present a subsidiary of credit institutions of the largest Russian banks (Sberbank of Russia (Ukraine), "Sberbank" (Kazakhstan) and "BPS-Bank (Belarus) as well as subsidiaries "VTB Bank" and "Alfa-Bank" VTB Bank "(Ukraine), "Alfa-Bank" (Ukraine) and "Alfa-Bank" (Kazakhstan).
Total assets of the 200 largest banks of CIS as of January 1, 2014, according to experts of "RIA Rating" amounted to USD 1,82 trillion, USD 179 billion or 10.9% more than the assets of the TOP 200 a year before. It is noted that at the beginning of 2014 the share of 200 largest banks of the CIS accounted for 82.8% of the banking system of CIS countries (for comparison, a year before this indicator was lower - 80,8%).
Among the largest banks the growth rate is heterogeneous: the assets of the TOP 10 banks increased in 2013 by 13.4%, compared to 7.6% in the remaining 190 banks. In opinion of experts of RIA Rating", in the coming years the process of growing concentration of assets, is likely to continue due to the crowding out of smaller banks. By the end of 2013, 55 banks or 27.5% of the fall in the rating showed reduction in assets, while in the past such rating was 19%, and in 2011 - 22%, respectively. The increase in the number of banks with negative growth rates may reflect both an increase in competition at the domestic financial markets and problems in the economies of the CIS countries.
