OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2014. According to CIS Statistical Committee, for 6 months of 2014 the volume of cargo transportations in Moldova grew by 10.8% compared to the same period of 2013.

At the same time, in absolute terms the volume of cargo transportations in Moldova is one of the smallest in the CIS (smaller volumes are registered only in Armenia) and made up in the I half of the year 5.6 million tons.

The positive dynamics of freight traffic in January-June 2014 was also registered in Kyrgyzstan (+2,5%); Tajikistan (+3,2%); Ukraine (+3,2%); and Kazakhstan (+4,1%). In the remaining countries the decline was registered in Azerbaijan - 0,5%, Russia - 1,1%, Belarus - 2,3% and Armenia - 20,5%.

There is no data available for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for the period. On average in CIS the volume of cargo transportations in January-June 2014 increased by 1.4% as compared with the same period of 2013 - up to 3502,5 million tons.
