OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2014. According to the press service of the UNDP project "Energy and biomass”, most applications for participation in the contest were received in the category "Best project of solar, geothermal and bio-terminal energy."

This year the competition will be held in 9 categories, including 12 categories (projects in bio-energy; energy efficiency; in the field of wind, hydraulic, geothermal, solar energy; in education, communications, etc.). The competition "Eco-energy of Moldova is aimed to support the most important initiatives in the field of production, transmission, distribution and energy efficiency in implementation, development and promotion of modern technologies, innovations in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The competition is held among the state agencies, private sector, nongovernmental organizations, foundations, advocacy groups, media and private persons. Competition Commission from 16 experts will consider the draft and will select the winners in each category. As it was previously reported, the competition is organized by the Ministry of economy and the Agency of energy efficiency of Moldova with the support of the joint EU - UNDP "Energy and biomass.

The winners will be announced and awarded at a gala event "Eco-energy Moldova-2014", which will be held on 5 December 2014.
